Red Barn Kitchen
Charlotte, Vermont
Several years ago, longtime friend and client Chef Matt Jennings reached out to us to brand his new venture, Red Barn Kitchen. After selling his Boston restaurant (Townsman), Matt relocated his family to a small farm in Charlotte, Vermont, where he renovated a barn to include a commercial kitchen and intimate seating for 20–30 guests. The concept included pop-up dinners with guest chefs, takeout offerings, and catering services.
Matt’s only request for the branding: it had to be red and feature a rooster. We designed a logo inspired by a weathervane—placing a proud rooster atop crossed silverware as directional arrows. It struck the perfect balance of rustic charm and chef-driven sophistication. Matt loved it immediately—the final logo and supporting badges were all approved in the first round of mockups.
We also created a website that reflected the spirit of the barn and the land, built around Vermont-sourced ingredients and the rhythm of seasonal cooking. Though Matt eventually sold the farm, Red Barn Kitchen remains one of our favorite collaborations—a true creative spark between old friends.
