Malcolm Designs is a Nantucket design studio specializing in website design, branding, logos, marketing materials, and merch. For over 35 years, we’ve partnered with award-winning architects, interior designers, builders, landscapers, restaurants, and a wide range of businesses across the US. Whether you’re launching a new brand or refreshing an existing one, we bring creative vision and strategic thinking to every project.

Our small, experienced team for web design includes developers and programmers who support advanced web development needs, ensuring our designs are both beautiful and technically sound. We have 30 years of experience and great success with SEO, and have your business ranked top in Google searches.

Our art director, Jenna, has over 20 years of experience producing and managing photo shoots for fashion, products, and hospitality, suitable for both print, the web, and e-commerce. Jenna worked in New York City for twenty years, establishing herself as a trusted collaborator among photographers, designers, and globally known brands. Learn more below.

Malcolm Brooks

Owner & Lead Designer

Malcolm founded the company while studying at Syracuse University in the eighties. He designed and built experimental backcountry snowboards, skateboard decks, and furniture, crafting them by hand. The snowboards were built using maple veneer, epoxy, and Kevlar® and laminated in a vacuum mold. The boards were tested in the backcountry on the Teton Pass in Jackson, Wyoming.

In the early 1990s, Malcolm launched a graphic design business and created a line of T-shirts, which were sold on Nantucket. This evolved into designing a line of winter hats made out of Polerfleece called Stovepipe Hats. They were sold in New York City (at 20+ boutique shops), Aspen, Boston, and Miami Beach—an experience that taught him the power of branding and marketing. (Before the internet)

At the same time, Malcolm was designing logos for local Nantucket businesses. In 1996, he purchased his first computer and dove into learning Photoshop, Illustrator, and web design. This was just as the internet was starting to reshape how businesses present themselves to the world.

Since then, Malcolm Designs has continued to evolve, helping its clients build memorable brands through thoughtful design and a deep understanding of both tradition and innovation. Jenna Nankin
